  1. It seems like common sense to me that more and more Facebook users are becoming “mobile only”. Think about it, a phone or tablet is so convenient for something like Facebook – there is very little reason why you need a laptop or desktop to browse the site.

  2. I’m surprised that only 56% of Americans have a social networking profile. I imagine the majority of these profiles would be on Facebook with Google+ in 2nd place. From what I understand, G+ is the fastest growing social networking site around.

  3. Cathy,

I don’t think G+ is growing because of mainstream usage. I’m sure the fact that every gmail user has a G+ account created for them helps pad the numbers, but really there isn’t a lot of daily usage from the FB crowd!

  4. 189 million mobile users for Facebook?! That’s amazing and it shows that we really have to ramp up our mobile abilities if we are going to capture some of that audience.

  5. A collection of useful Social Media facts, many of which I did not know. This one was a shocker, “There are over 10 million Facebook apps so far”. I assume this is because there are apps in multiple languages.

  6. There are so many people of Facebook and Twitter and it has become so mainstream to post anything and everything on social media pages. I am unsure what our society is coming to when so much personal and private things are out in the open.

  7. 60% of people would engage if a business is on Facebook? I might have to start focusing some attention over to my social networks! I didn’t realize they were that powerful.

  8. I read this post twice. I am a recently graduated, now gainfully unemployed graphic artist. I launched my own business online using a number of web presences to market different products, such as banner ads graphics, custom Facebook and Twitter covers, and so on. Each website has a Twitter, Pinterest and Facebook page. My problem is I am too busy trying to run my business to maintain my social media accounts. After reading this post I realize I have to switch to focusing on social media marketing and for go the other forms of marketing I am using. Have to hire a virtual assistant to hand my SM obviously. Thanks for taking the time to post such a valuable resource.

  9. This was an eye opener! I had no idea that Social Media use is as wide spread as it is, and used so much. I’m obviously not a typical SM user. I have to look at marketing my virtual assistant services via social media more.
